The European Union has provided the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) with non-lethal equipment to enhance their operational capacity and strengthen national security efforts.
The donation, which includes civil engineering tools, advanced communication systems, and riverine assets, was officially presented last week at a ceremony held at the 49 Engineer Regiment.
Defence Minister Omane Boamah highlighted the significance of the support, stating that the equipment would enhance Ghana’s human security initiatives, bolster social interventions, and reinforce border protection. Additionally, it is expected to improve the military’s ability to respond to emerging security threats.
The event brought together senior military officials, government representatives, members of the diplomatic corps, and the media, all of whom recognized the importance of the partnership in addressing Ghana’s security challenges.
