Former Gold Stars Coach Michael Osei passes away in London

Tragedy has struck the Ghanaian football fraternity as coach Michael Osei passed away on Friday afternoon in London.
It is understood that Michael, who died at age 53 suffered a heart attack and was rushed to a hospital in the city.
The news of his untimely passing has left fans, colleagues, and players in deep sorrow. Details of his burial date and funeral rites are yet to be confirmed.
Osei’s football journey began as a player in Ghana, where he featured for Okwahu United and Asante Kotoko SC.
His talent earned him a move to Germany, where he played for Mainz 05 and Frankfurt.
In 2008, he transitioned into coaching, starting as an assistant manager at Frankfurt.
He returned to Ghana in 2011, joining New Edubiase United as an assistant coach before moving to Asante Kotoko, where he later became head coach.
Osei’s managerial career also included stints with Liberty Professionals, Star Madrid, and recently Bibiani Gold Stars between 2022 and 2024.
