Former CEO of Cocobod, Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni, and businessman Seidu Agongo have been cleared of all criminal charges that were filed against them by the State.
This decision came after the State requested that the charges be dropped.
On Tuesday, a State Attorney, Enam Loh Mensah, informed the court, saying, "My Lord, the Republic has filed a notice of withdrawal."
The two men had been facing 27 charges over the past eight years, including accusations of defrauding the state, causing financial loss, and violating public procurement rules.
They had always denied the charges.
Their lawyers, Samuel Cudjoe and Benson Nutsukpui, confirmed in court that they had received the notice to withdraw the charges.
The state represented by the Attorney-General Dr Dominic Ayine did not disclose the reason for the drop of chages.
