Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has taken a bold step to nurture local football talent by announcing the arrival of scouts from eight European teams for his Thomas Partey Tournament.
The event will take place from December 2 to 5 at the Tuba Astro Turf, located in the Greater Accra Region.
The initiative aims to provide young Ghanaian footballers with a platform to showcase their skills and potentially secure opportunities with major European clubs.
“This is for the motherland. Let’s discover and celebrate our future stars,” Partey declared, expressing his commitment to giving back to the country that shaped his football journey.
The announcement has stirred excitement among young footballers and fans alike, as it represents a rare chance for budding talents to gain international recognition.
"We need more activities like this to discover more talents," an X user wrote.
Partey’s efforts come against the backdrop of criticism directed at several prominent Ghanaian players who have been accused of neglecting local football development after achieving global success.
