The Ghana Police Service has made multiple arrests in connection with electoral offenses during the ongoing general elections.
At the Wassa Akropong-Appiahkrom polling station A in the Western Region, Kwofie Stephen, a polling station agent, was arrested for allegedly engaging in double voting. The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
In a separate incident at the St. Theresa School polling station in the Okaikwei South Constituency in Accra, the Police arrested Michael Allotey for possession of a weapon. He has also been detained as investigations continue.
Voting at the same polling station was temporarily disrupted following tensions over the discovery of suspected counterfeit ballots. Reports suggest the individuals in possession of the fake ballots are allegedly affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
