Manchester City have announced record-breaking Premier League revenues of £715m for the financial year ending June 30, 2024, marking a £2.2m increase from their previous record of £712.8m.
The impressive financial results come despite the club falling short of repeating their historic 2023 Treble triumph. However, City celebrated their fourth consecutive Premier League title, alongside victories in the Club World Cup and European Super Cup.
Wages dropped by £10.3m to £412.6m, while commercial revenue saw a slight rise from £341.4m to £344.7m. The club also recorded an overall pre-tax profit of £73.8m.
Since 2014-15, Manchester City have maintained profitability every season, with the exception of the Covid-affected 2019-20 campaign. Additionally, the club reported an overall profit of £92.8m in transfer business since June, boosted by the sales of players such as Julian Alvarez, Joao Cancelo, and Liam Delap.
City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak reflected on the organisation's sustained ambition and meticulous planning. "Our constant ambition to target and achieve the unprecedented is a mark of the organisation we have become," he said.
While City's financial health remains robust, the club is enduring a difficult period on the pitch, including a recent Champions League defeat to Juventus, which jeopardises their progression in the competition.
The financial report briefly referenced City’s ongoing legal dispute with the Premier League over 115 alleged breaches of financial rules but did not elaborate further.
Manchester City continue their £300m expansion of the Etihad Stadium’s North Stand, which will increase its capacity to 60,000 by Euro 2028, and have confirmed plans for a new women's training facility set to open during the 2025-26 season.
