Newly appointed Manchester United manager, Rúben Amorim, has expressed confidence and excitement about taking on his new role at the club. The 39-year-old former Sporting Lisbon boss described the move as an opportunity to showcase his philosophy while embracing the challenges of leading one of the world’s biggest football clubs.Speaking about his appointment, Amorim said “I feel like I am where I'm supposed to be. That's the feeling.”“I’m very, very proud to be Manchester United manager. It’s incredible.“I’m really excited, and I’m quite relaxed, you know!”Amorim takes over following the sacking of Erik ten Hag on Monday, after Manchester United's poor start to the season. The club moved swiftly to secure Amorim as their top target, paying a €10 million release clause to Sporting CP. However, negotiations were delayed due to complications surrounding compensation for his assistant coaches.Having finalized the deal, Amorim departs Sporting CP after an impressive four-year tenure. During his time at the Portuguese club, he guided them to two league titles, ending a 19-year drought, and leaves with the team currently top of the Primeira Liga, having won all nine of their opening games this season.
