The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has come under fire after videos revealing the poor interior condition of buses donated to local football clubs surfaced online, sparking outrage among football enthusiasts.
Former President of Techiman City FC, Charles Ntim, shared images of the dilapidated interior of a bus presented to New Edubiase United in a scathing Facebook post. The visuals have since triggered widespread criticism, with many fans labeling the gesture a failure and a blemish on Ghanaian football.
In footage circulating on social media, GFA President Kurt Okraku was seen presenting keys to the buses, part of an initiative designed to ease transportation challenges and motivate teams.
The beneficiary clubs include:
Zone 1
Young Apostles FC – 1st place (Now in the Premier League)
Techiman Heroes FC – 2nd place
Victory Club Warriors – 3rd place
Zone 2
Basake Holy Stars – 1st place (Now in the Premier League)
New Edubiase FC – 2nd place
Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs – 3rd place
Zone 3
Vision FC – 1st place (Now in the Premier League)
Okwawu United – 2nd place
Hohoe United – 3rd place
Despite its aim to support clubs, the initiative has drawn criticism for the poor state of the buses, with fans questioning the GFA's oversight and priorities.
